All of my adult life I have been trying (like most women) various brands of facial products available on the market. "The more expensive the better," I thought. And as many of you know, no matter how much I spent or which product I tried, I did not receive appreciable results.

My skin was so sensitive and wrinkles were developing...it seemed nothing helped me.

And then one day I decided to experiment with a few Old Russian natural folk remedies whose benefits supposedly had the ability to add luster and reduce the appearance of aging. It is among the most promising anti-aging substances because it works on wrinkles where they begin: below the skin's surface.

Due to its ability to permeate the skin, it acts as a carrier to deliver other substances with similar molecular structures deep down below the surface of the skin where wrinkles start, preventing the formation of new wrinkles.

Skin looks older as it ages because it becomes thinner and wrinkles appear. Studies show that skin, where this oil has been used, is two to four times thicker than untreated skin and has fewer wrinkles. The oil contains vitamin E; vitamin A; Terpines (antiseptics) and Sapogens (skin softeners).

The oil has an excellent balance of two substantial fatty acids that the body needs, but does not produce: Oleic Acid (fatty acid, which is a skin cell regenerator. Spanish missionaries noted the use of the "oil" (actually not an oil, but an "ester") by Indian tribes (Apache notably) for cosmetic, medical, and nutritional purposes. Twentieth century research uncovered the similarity to whale oil.
Research shows that insaponifiables (skin softeners) applied to skin increase the dermal state of elastin. Starting from our early twenties (even younger if we spend a lot of time in the sun) our skin starts to lose its elasticity. It literally cracks with the progressive loss of elastin fiber. All vegetable oils contain insaponifiables to some degree, most around 2 to 3%. This oil has 50%.

For better stability, it is best to use this natural oil when it has not been decolorized. The oil from the seeds is unusual in that it is not oil but a pure liquid ester. The difference between oil and an ester is small and yet large in terms of properties.

Vegetable oils have several alcohol groups on the molecule and some have forked molecules and will eventually oxidize and become rancid. This has only one alcohol group and is a straight chain molecule; therefore it is not subject to oxidizing and in fact is an anti-oxidant and will never become rancid. However, the liquid ester does have the ability to self polymerize in the presence of sunlight, so it is best to keep it in amber or blue glass containers, in the dark, or in closed metal cans.

This "oil" is a natural mimic of the oil secreted by human skin so it may be used to protect and lubricate skin and hair. It is soothing, stops multitudinous skin problems and protects against premature aging and wrinkling of the skin caused by exposure to ultra violet radiation.
